Adding Drivers and Vehicles

Add your delivery team and fleet

Drivers and vehicles are essential for executing your deliveries. This guide covers how to set them up in EvoDax.

Adding a Vehicle

Vehicles represent your delivery fleet, from vans to trucks to bicycles.

To add a vehicle:

  1. Go to Vehicles in the sidebar
  2. Click Add Vehicle
  3. Enter the vehicle details:
    • Registration - License plate number
    • Make & Model - e.g., "Ford Transit"
    • Type - Van, Truck, Car, Motorcycle, or Bicycle
    • Capacity - Maximum weight and/or volume
  4. Assign to a warehouse (optional)
  5. Click Create

Vehicle Types

Vehicle Compliance

Track important vehicle documents:

  • Insurance expiry date
  • Road tax renewal
  • NCT/MOT due date
  • Service schedule

EvoDax will alert you when documents are expiring.

Adding a Driver

Drivers are team members who execute deliveries on routes.

To add a driver:

  1. Go to Drivers in the sidebar
  2. Click Add Driver
  3. Enter driver details:
    • Name - First and last name
    • Email - For login and notifications
    • Phone - Contact number
    • License type - Driving license category
  4. Assign to a warehouse (optional)
  5. Click Create

Driver App Access

Once created, drivers can:

  1. Download the EvoDax Driver app
  2. Log in with their email and company code
  3. View assigned routes
  4. Update delivery status
  5. Capture proof of delivery

Assigning Vehicles to Drivers

You can link drivers to specific vehicles:

  1. Open the driver profile
  2. Click Assign Vehicle
  3. Select the vehicle from the list
  4. Set the assignment period (permanent or temporary)

This helps with:

  • Vehicle tracking
  • Compliance management
  • Cost allocation

Driver Availability

Track when drivers are available:

  • Available - Ready for route assignment
  • On Route - Currently delivering
  • Off Duty - Not working
  • On Break - Temporary pause

Drivers can update their status from the mobile app.

Best Practices

  • Keep driver license information up to date
  • Match vehicle types to delivery requirements
  • Set realistic capacity limits
  • Enable notifications for compliance expiries
  • Review driver performance regularly
